Do you believe that all children should have access to quality childcare? Want to make a difference in the lives of less advantaged families and our community ? Do you want to support our early childhood educators? AMKA youth development organization has a volunteer opportunity for you! Our organization runs a daycare for the low income families in the surrounding areas, which is free of charge to children under 5 years old. The daycare allows families to work and/or relieve pressure during the day while their children are kept safe in a nurturing environment..
As a childcare volunteer, you will assist in daycares and kindergartens that are often underfunded, under-resourced, and in need of extra help. Volunteers provide valuable support by: Assisting with teaching Caring for children Playing games and arranging activities Helping with feeding and mealtimes Interacting and engaging with children Other general duties. You’re welcome to bring along books, pencils, basic first aid supplies, and musical instruments to help entertain the children and assist with activities. These supplies can generally be purchased in Tanzania, which also helps to support the local economy.

You will either stay in a single or shared (same gender) room, depending on the host situation and peak versus off-peak seasons. The bathroom is shared with other people in the accommodation. We provide volunteers with towels, bed linen, and blankets laundries. We also have plenty of space around if you want to bring your own sleeping bags, camping tents, etc. Singletravelerss are welcome, and it is a safe place. We make sure to assist you in any way.
Volunteers are offered three meals a day (breakfast, lunch & dinner) and vegetarian meals are also available. We offer locally available, fresh, and nutritious food in meals held together with other volunteers and people working at the project as well. Please let us know in advance if you have any special restrictions so we can adjust it for you!
